In the Gardens of Hope, couples exchange vows on a wide terrace above the River Clyde, with the village of New Glasgow spread out beyond.

The gardens cover 12 acres beside the Prince Edward Island Preserve Company in central PEI. Maintained trails wander through the grounds, there are quiet spots to sit and lawn games to play, and a butterfly house opens each July.

Ceremonies take place on the Garden Terrace, a spacious deck overlooking the river and the village. Couples have exclusive use of the terrace for their ceremony, set against a natural backdrop that changes with the seasons.

The gardens host ceremonies only, so couples hold their reception elsewhere afterward, which makes this a lovely choice for a scenic first chapter of the day.

For couples who picture saying their vows in a riverside garden with butterflies and wildflowers nearby, the Gardens of Hope offer a ceremony that feels peaceful, natural and truly Island.
