At Fortuna's Row, a wedding unfolds inside an old textile factory, where sunlight pours through skylights onto aged brick and towering concrete pillars.
This 10,000 square foot Latin American supper club sits along Calgary's riverfront between Chinatown and East Village. The building's industrial past was left on show rather than covered over, so its rooms feel unlike any other in the city.
More than 100 couples have celebrated here. The venue can be booked in full or in parts, with room for a ceremony, about 160 guests at a seated dinner including bar seating, and up to 400 for a mingling style evening.
The building is divided into distinct rooms that each have their own mood. The Standing Room Only bar has its own private entrance and full bar, plush lounge furniture and Latin American inspired details, and it can host a ceremony, long table dinner or reception for up to 110 guests. The private dining room seats 20 at thick, custom made wooden tables under soft mood lighting, a lovely setting for a rehearsal dinner.
Chef Mikko Tamarra leads the kitchen, serving contemporary Latin American cuisine in formats from passed canapés to coursed meals, with allergies and dietary needs looked after given notice. A full bar program can be tailored to each couple.
An in house events team helps with booking and planning, and chairs, linens, tables, DJ speakers, storage and setup help are all on site. Children are welcome at private events, and there is parking on site and nearby.
For couples who picture a sunlit industrial loft, bold Latin flavours and a dance floor that runs late, Fortuna's Row offers a wedding with history and heat in the heart of Calgary.
