Some wedding venues were built for celebrations. The Barn at Exeter Golf Club was built for farm work, and today it is where couples come to celebrate.
Located in Centralia, a short drive from London, Exeter and Lake Huron, Exeter Golf Club began in 1961 when a local farmer converted his farm into a golf course. Today the gently rolling, well-treed 9-hole course shows little trace of that farmland, except for its clubhouse, a converted turn-of-the-century barn.
The Barn was renovated with natural industrial materials to complement its original beams, walls and antique farming tools. The result is a relaxed, everyone-welcome space where work boots, golf spikes, sneakers and high heels all feel at home.
Weddings bring together the ceremony and reception in one place, with the barn clubhouse offering a blend of rustic charm and modern details. It can host up to 180 dining guests or a standing reception of around 250.
A professional events manager helps keep the planning stress-free, and the chef guides couples through curated wedding menu options. The Barn Restaurant & Pub is known for home-made comfort food, and the kitchen even smokes its own bacon.
Country-style weddings have made The Barn an increasingly popular venue, and on most weekends music and laughter can be heard from across the course.
For guests travelling from further away, the farmhouse at Exeter Golf Club can be rented and sleeps up to 16, turning the wedding into a few days of exploring the region. Golfers in the group might add a round at nearby Ironwood Golf Club.
For couples who want a country wedding with real barn character, hearty food and a crowd that is ready to dance, Exeter Golf Club offers a celebration that feels warm, unpretentious and full of life.
