At the Edmonton Convention Centre, a wedding is framed by the river valley, with sunset light pouring through tall windows and the city's green parkland stretching out below.
The building steps down into Edmonton's river valley, giving views in every direction over the largest urban parkland in North America. Inside are more than 150,000 square feet of event space that can be shaped to suit almost any celebration.
Hall D is the grandest room, with windows from floor to ceiling looking over the valley and a large outdoor patio. It can be set for up to 1,000 guests and is especially lovely at sunset. For a smaller, candlelit evening, the Riverview Room seats 75 to 140, and the Salon ballrooms can be arranged for 150 to 450 guests.
Food is a highlight. Executive Chef Serge Belair and Executive Pastry Chef Jason Wang lead a team of award-winning chefs who create the wedding menu, from cocktail hour and plated dinners to gourmet buffets and the cake. Couples can choose open or cash bars with premium liquor and a signature drink.
The venue looks after nearly everything: catering and bar, set-up and tear-down, planning, the cake and a bridal suite. Tables, chairs, linens, china, glassware, lighting, audio and a dance floor are all provided in house.
Each couple works with a dedicated Wedding Event Manager who handles the details behind the scenes.
For couples who picture a large celebration with river valley views and a menu crafted by top chefs, the Edmonton Convention Centre offers a wedding that feels both grand and deeply rooted in the city.
