With natural timbers, stone fireplaces and lush greenery, the Diamond Alumni Centre pairs a rustic warmth with wide views toward the water and the mountains.
Located on Simon Fraser University's Burnaby campus on University Drive East, the centre is run by SFU Meeting, Event and Conference Services and welcomes weddings and celebrations alongside conferences and special events.
Renovated in 2024, the building pairs modern sophistication with its original rustic character. Picturesque views stretch toward Indian Arm and the North Shore mountains, and outdoor decks on both levels give guests somewhere to step out and take in the scenery.
Event spaces are spread across two levels, with the centre accommodating groups from around 20 to 250 people.
On the upper floor, the Main Hall holds up to approximately 200 guests and includes a dining room, bar and dance floor, so dinner, speeches and dancing can all unfold in one room.
On the lower level, the Fraser-Thompson Room accommodates up to around 50 guests, a comfortable size for a smaller reception or a gathering the day before the wedding.
Catering is available through the centre's exclusive Summit and Savour menus, including dedicated wedding menu options. AV and technical support and bespoke planning services help bring the practical details together.
The spaces are mobility aid device-accessible, which makes the day easier for guests of every age.
For couples who want mountain views, warm timber and stone and a celebration that stays close to Vancouver, the Diamond Alumni Centre offers a setting that feels both refreshed and grounded.
