Dewar's Inn on the River is a small, laid-back resort on the banks of the St. Lawrence near Prescott, Ontario, in the Ottawa and Thousand Islands region. It welcomes weddings in an intentionally intimate way, for smaller parties of approximately 35 to 40 guests at most.
Couples can exchange vows with the river as their backdrop. Afterwards, the inn's plentiful gardens offer places for photographs, while guests relax and take in the water from the boardwalk and grounds.
The property has its own story too. The riverside cottages were built on the site of the former Grenville Brewery, using the brick remains of that once busy enterprise.
Staying close is easy. The inn's wedding package includes wedding night accommodation for the couple and group wedding rates for guests.
There are three styles of accommodation. Six themed Riverside Cottages each sleep four and include a full kitchen, gas fireplace and private deck with barbecue, while six Riverview Suites and a set of Partial Riverview Rooms offer further options. Every stay includes a complimentary continental breakfast.
The inn is an adult-oriented property, open year-round, which makes it well suited to a quiet, grown-up celebration in any season.
