Some rooms are built for dinner. This one was built for dancing.

DC Dance Club is a ballroom in Calgary's Crossroads Art Centre, a 1920s building about five minutes from downtown, with ample parking for guests.

The main ballroom covers 3,000 square feet with a wood sprung floor, a full-size competition dance floor and two dance floor areas, with a room divider available.

Crystal chandeliers and large mirrors give the space a classic ballroom feel, while air conditioning keeps the room comfortable once the music starts.

The room can welcome up to 350 guests, with seating for up to 200. Banquet tables and chairs are available for up to 100 guests.

Beyond the ballroom, a reception area of approximately 650 square feet and a 1,400-square-foot lounge give guests somewhere to gather between dances.

Big screen TVs and music playback from CD, iPod or iPad make it easy to share a slideshow or bring a favourite playlist into the evening.

The club hosts weddings along with anniversaries, birthday parties and other celebrations, so the room is well used to a full dance floor.

For couples who want the first dance and every dance after it to be the heart of the night, DC Dance Club offers a true ballroom with a floor made for moving.
