There is something about a white clapboard chapel at the end of a garden aisle that makes a wedding feel timeless. At Cranberry Creek Gardens, that chapel is the heart of seven acres of gardens near Delhi in Norfolk County.
This vintage inspired venue brings together a historic chapel, a timber frame pavilion, an open air barn and gardens designed to look beautiful in every season.
The 1881 Chapel was moved to the site from St. Williams in the 1990s. Inside are its original wooden pews, restored woodwork and white-washed walls, and it is heated and air-conditioned. It seats up to 89 for a plated meal or 77 for a buffet, holds up to 100 for a cocktail reception and up to 150 for a ceremony.
Ceremonies can take place on the Chapel Steps with a garden aisle, in the gardens, or inside the chapel, which also serves as the weather backup. Weddings welcome up to 150 attendees during the main season.
The Timber Frame Pavilion, built in 2024 and joined to the chapel, hosts cocktail hour at harvest tables, with a campfire and benches nearby. The renovated 1940's Barn is open air with chandeliers, harvest tables and original beams, and is the main dinner setting in the wedding season.
Getting ready happens in the Wedding Suite, five rooms on the main floor of a renovated century home beside the event site. In-house catering comes from Devlin's Country Bistro, and outside full service caterers are also permitted.
Later in the evening the chapel becomes the dance floor while guests drift between the pavilion bar and the fire.
For couples dreaming of a historic chapel, garden paths and a barn dinner beneath chandeliers, Cranberry Creek Gardens offers a wedding with vintage charm and thoughtful weather plans.
