At Courtyard by Marriott Oshawa, a wedding comes together under one roof, with a modern ballroom downstairs and a room upstairs for the night when the dancing ends.
Weddings take place in the Harmony Event Centre, a newer event venue connected to the hotel on Bloor Street East, just north of Highway 401 and close to downtown Oshawa.
The main Harmony ballroom seats up to 300 guests for dinner and holds up to 400 for a standing reception. It divides into three smaller rooms, so a ceremony, a cocktail hour and a reception can each have their own space, and smaller weddings can feel full and close.
The day can start in a private bridal suite and a separate lounge for the other half of the wedding party, so everyone has somewhere calm to dress, laugh and take a breath before the ceremony.
Food and drink come from the in-house culinary and bar team, who build custom menus, plan signature cocktails and can upgrade the wine list. The venue welcomes cultural and traditional weddings alike, and there is lighting and sound for the vows, the speeches and the first dance.
Out-of-town guests can stay steps away in the connected hotel, which has a heated indoor pool and patio. All-inclusive wedding packages include a complimentary night for the couple, and parking is free, with guests welcome to leave their cars overnight.
Winter couples are looked after too, with walkways cleared and salted on the wedding day.
For couples who picture a polished ballroom celebration with their guests sleeping just down the hall, Courtyard by Marriott Oshawa offers a wedding that is easy for everyone from the first toast to breakfast the next morning.
