Some celebrations belong in a place where people already gather to make things. Casa, the community arts centre in Lethbridge managed by the Allied Arts Council of Lethbridge, is that kind of place, full of studios, exhibitions and performances.

Located at 230 8th Street South, Casa offers facility rentals designed to help the arts community and the wider public rehearse, celebrate, teach, display and perform, with five adaptable spaces: a dance studio, a meeting room, a multi-purpose black box space, an upstairs patio and Rotary Square.

The largest of these is the Community Room, a black box style space of about 2,576 square feet. It can hold up to approximately 200 guests theatre style or around 100 in a cabaret setting, and it is set up for special events as well as recitals, screenings and larger gatherings.

The room comes with an elevated lighting and sound booth, a lighting grid, a sound system with wireless microphones, an HD projector with a retractable screen, and tables, a podium and risers, which gives a couple plenty of tools for speeches, music or a slideshow.

The Gallery at Casa exhibits fine art and craft from southern Alberta, so guests arriving for an event find themselves in a building that is alive with local creativity.

For couples who want an intimate, creative celebration in Lethbridge, Casa offers a flexible arts space with the lighting and sound to make an evening feel like a performance.
