A downtown wedding can still feel calm and personal, especially when the reception room looks out over a garden and everyone is staying under the same roof.
Cartier Place Suite Hotel is on Cooper Street in downtown Ottawa, close to the Elgin Street area and within walking distance of many of the city's sights. Its event spaces sit on the lobby level, bright and airy with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the gardens.
The Brittany Salon is the main reception room, offering 1,500 square feet with nine-foot ceilings. It can host around 100 guests at banquet tables and up to approximately 195 for a reception-style gathering.
The smaller Cartier Salon, with 914 square feet and the same garden-facing windows, suits more intimate dinners or a cocktail-style celebration of up to around 90 guests.
For the vows themselves, the hotel offers a charming garden area for small wedding ceremonies.
Catering comes from the hotel's on-site restaurant, The Alembic. Weddings can include a full set-up with chairs, chair covers, a dance floor, tables, linens, dishes, a podium, a microphone, a projection screen and a wedding arch, with on-site wedding and event planners to help.
Guests can stay in the hotel's suites at special group rates, and the couple can enjoy a complimentary stay in the VIP Suite. There is also a complimentary trial dinner to sample the menu, along with three levels of heated underground parking.
For couples who want a garden ceremony, a light-filled reception and family staying right upstairs in downtown Ottawa, Cartier Place Suite Hotel offers a relaxed, all-in-one celebration.
