There is something about a golf course in the warmer months: long green fairways, open sky and the kind of space that makes a whole day feel unhurried. At Caradoc Sands Golf Club, that landscape becomes the backdrop for the wedding.
The club sits on Saxton Road in Strathroy, and its grounds are known for being pristine, with a picturesque course offering plenty of places for photographs.
Ceremonies can take place in the club's waterfall ceremony space, so couples can exchange vows and move straight on to cocktails and dinner without guests ever leaving the property.
There are two reception spaces to choose from. The Banquet Hall can host up to approximately 230 guests between May and October, and up to around 180 the rest of the year. The Cottage Villa, available from May to October, welcomes approximately 100 to 140 guests with a tent.
Food is prepared in-house, and wedding menus include cocktail hour hors d'oeuvres, plated dinners with a choice of entrées, dessert and a late-night pizza or poutinerie. For a less traditional evening, a cocktail-style package trades the sit-down meal for drinks and appetizers served throughout the night.
Room rental includes table setup, chairs and chair covers, linens in white, ivory or black, china, glassware, staff and a podium, along with access to the club's on-site décor room. Setup and teardown are handled by the team, and every couple has a complimentary wedding coordinator.
There are thoughtful extras too, including a complimentary menu tasting for two and a round of golf for four guests. The club also welcomes bridal showers, rehearsal dinners and morning-after brunches.
For couples who want an outdoor ceremony, generous food and a team that handles the details, Caradoc Sands Golf Club offers a relaxed, welcoming celebration in the open countryside near Strathroy.
