Canyon Ski Resort

You do not have to travel to the mountains for a chalet wedding. Just minutes from Red Deer, the river valley opens up around a rustic ski lodge.

Inside the lodge at Canyon Ski Resort, huge glass windows frame the valley and stone wood-burning fireplaces warm the rooms. Outside, a wraparound deck offers views in every direction.

The resort serves weddings of approximately 50 to 250 guests, with full banquet services. The whole property can be exclusively yours for the day, and the resort describes its grounds as some of the top photography settings in central Alberta.

Couples have hosted both their ceremony and reception here, with ceremonies held outside beside the lodge or indoors in the South Room with the fireplace lit.

Dinner is built from a menu of customizable buffet meals. The resort can supply linens and tableware, or couples can bring their own.

The bar works a little differently than most. Couples supply their own wine and spirits and set the prices for their guests.
