Some places carry the weight of countless beginnings. At Pier 21, a wedding becomes one more new chapter written inside a building devoted to journeys.
The Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 is a national historic site on the Halifax waterfront, with several elegant spaces available for event and wedding rentals.
Kenneth C. Rowe Hall is the largest, with harbour views and a built-in stage with stage lighting. It can welcome up to approximately 550 guests for a reception or around 400 for a banquet.
The Chrysler Canada Pavilion offers floor-to-ceiling windows, natural light and its own stage, with room for about 200 guests for a ceremony, 300 for a reception or 120 for a banquet.
On the ground floor, the Ralph and Rose Chiodo Gallery pairs modern design with harbour-facing windows and can host around 200 guests for a ceremony or banquet and up to 300 for a reception.
For something more unusual, Rudolph P. Bratty Hall surrounds guests with exhibits on Canada's immigration history. It suits ceremonies of up to about 50 guests, banquets of around 70 and receptions of up to 250 after museum hours.
Rentals include oval banquet tables and chairs, and RCR Hospitality Group is the museum's exclusive catering and bar partner. The facility rentals team supports couples as plans take shape.
Evening and weekend parking is complimentary in the lot beside the entrance, making arrivals simple for guests.
For couples who want a waterfront celebration with real meaning behind the walls, the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 offers a Halifax setting where history and new beginnings meet.
