At Camp Cadicasu, a wedding unfolds in the forest of Kananaskis Country, with mountain air, a clear creek and a campfire glowing long after the first dance.
The camp sits in the Kananaskis wilderness, about halfway between Calgary and Banff, and has been welcoming campers for more than 95 years. Couples get exclusive use of the entire camp from Friday afternoon until Sunday afternoon, so their wedding party is the only group on site all weekend.
Ceremonies can be held outdoors among the trees or indoors, and couples are free to bring their own decorations. The forest and the creek make natural backdrops for photos.
Receptions take place in the dining hall, which opens onto a covered patio and has a commercial kitchen. Tables and chairs are provided for up to 120 guests, along with a projector and screen for a slideshow, and separate preparation spaces for the couple.
The weekend includes a dedicated on-site host, staff to help with setup and cleanup, two fire pits with firewood and benches, and lawn games such as bocce and giant Jenga.
Guests can stay over in rustic bunk-style cabins. Two main lodges each hold four cabins, all with electricity and bathrooms with warm running water; guests bring their own bedding and towels.
The area is close to hiking, biking, fishing, skiing and golf, and the camp proudly welcomes 2SLGBTQIA+ couples.
For couples who picture a mountain weekend of campfires, creekside photos and everyone they love under one forest canopy, Camp Cadicasu offers a relaxed and affordable wedding that feels like summer camp for grown ups.
We never use a venue’s photos without permission.
