At Brantview Apples & Cider, couples marry with an orchard all around them, on a family farm that has been bringing in apples for more than two centuries.
The farm sits near St. George, between Cambridge, Brantford, Hamilton and Kitchener, about an hour from the Greater Toronto Area. The Howell family has worked this land for eight generations, and in 2021 they marked their 200th harvest.
The Brantview Events Pavilion was built from hand hewn barn beams around 200 years old, reclaimed and raised again on the 80-acre property. Inside there is a generous dance floor under strings of rustic lights, a bar, a dining area and a bridal suite.
The pavilion seats up to 140 guests and includes a ceremony space, covered seating, a catering space and two washrooms with running water. Rows of carefully tended apple trees and greenery surround the building, so photos can be taken among the orchard without leaving the farm.
Guests follow a gravel lane to an open parking area a short stroll from the pavilion. Weddings run from May through Labour Day, and couples are welcome to book a tour and an in person consultation at the farm.
The family runs the events side themselves, and a member of the Howell family works directly with each couple from planning to the day itself. The farm also has a scratch bakery and its own cidery, Howell Road Cider Co.
For couples who picture saying their vows among apple trees and dancing beneath old barn beams, Brantview Apples & Cider offers a warm, rustic wedding rooted in a family farm with real history.
