For nearly 40 years, Bayside Farm was one of the most popular summer resorts in Nova Scotia, drawing visitors from across Canada and beyond to a Digby County farmhouse on St. Mary's Bay.
Today the property is a designated heritage property in Weymouth North, purchased by Roger and Louise Mullen in 1991 and extensively restored and renovated. Alongside the historic farmhouse are oceanfront rental cottages on the bay.
The farmhouse is available for weddings and other special events. The rental includes access to every room in the house, from the restored farm kitchen to the library and fireplace, the entertainment room, the study and the bedrooms on the upper level.
Outside, there is plenty of space for tents and parking for family and friends, and the property makes a beautiful backdrop for wedding photographs. One couple even married at one of the cottages, calling it the perfect location for their outdoor wedding.
Accommodation is where Bayside truly shines. Couples can combine the farmhouse with the cottage rentals, which include a Victorian cottage, a Cape Cod cottage and The Point, a spacious three-level family cottage.
There is also a little one-bedroom log cabin, offered as an overflow cottage for a wedding, whether for unexpected members of the party or simply somewhere to find a little extra space.
A couple might invite everyone to stay for several days, with a game of tennis on the property, a tour of the grounds and long evenings together beside the bay.
Bayside is about 30 minutes from the ferry terminal in Digby, which makes the journey easy for guests travelling from Saint John, New Brunswick.
For couples who picture a relaxed seaside wedding where the celebration and the stay blend together, Bayside Farm & Cottages offers a historic farm and cottages on St. Mary's Bay that can hold the whole weekend.
We never use a venue’s photos without permission.
