Country hospitality has been the promise at Baxter Creek Golf Club since it opened in 2008, and it shows in the way the clubhouse welcomes people in.
The club is located in Fraserville, in the heart of the Kawarthas. Locally owned and operated by the fifth and sixth generations of the Larmer family, it is home to an 18-hole championship course designed by golf architect David L. Moote.
The 7,500-square-foot clubhouse includes a lounge, a full banquet facility and a second-floor boardroom. The banquet hall is large enough for a full shotgun golf event of 144 or more people, and the club welcomes weddings from an intimate celebration of about 75 guests to a much larger gathering.
The banquet room is described by the club as beautifully simple, a room that couples can decorate to suit their own style.
Outside, the clubhouse features a fully covered entryway and a wraparound patio with exposed pine beams, slate rock walkways and gardens. Either the gazebo or the front entrance can be used for an outdoor wedding ceremony.
The boardroom opens onto a private east-facing terrace overlooking the finishing holes, a pleasant option for smaller gatherings. The fully licensed lounge, deck, patio and gazebo give guests more places to gather.
An events coordinator handles banquets, events and weddings, and the club also hosts corporate functions, showers, anniversaries and other celebrations.
For couples who want a warm Kawarthas wedding with a ceremony outdoors and a reception close by, Baxter Creek Golf Club offers a welcoming clubhouse setting with plenty of room to celebrate.
