Imagine exchanging vows where forest and architecture meet, then celebrating surrounded by some of the most important art in British Columbia.
The Audain Art Museum, in Whistler, opened in 2016 and was designed by Patkau Architects. Its permanent collection spans from the late 18th century to the present, including the largest permanent display of paintings by Emily Carr.
The museum welcomes weddings with a set of venue packages, each moving guests through a sequence of distinct spaces.
For ceremonies, couples can choose the Atrium, which offers natural seating for a forest-backed ceremony, the grassy Meadow among towering trees, or the Porch, a dramatic entry that also works beautifully for welcome drinks.
Cocktail hour can take place on the Porch or the covered North Terrace beside the Meadow, offering refuge from changing mountain weather.
Most packages hold the reception in Cressey Hall, elevated above the forest floor with a grand entrance bathed in natural light, for up to approximately 100 guests. The Outdoor Wedding package moves dinner under the open sky in the Meadow before dancing in Cressey Hall, for up to around 120 guests. Ceremony-only options can also be explored.
The museum works with preferred partners for catering, decor, florals and photography, and a dedicated team supports each event.
For couples who want their Whistler wedding to feel creative and connected to the land, the Audain Art Museum offers forest ceremonies, remarkable architecture and an evening among great art.
