Ashlar is a restored 1890 stone schoolhouse in Munster, 25 minutes from downtown Ottawa. Two-foot stone walls that survived a fire in 2001, a string-lit courtyard, manicured gardens, and a weather-proof tent for dining under the open evening.
We host one wedding a day, for 30 to 65 guests. The property is yours from two in the afternoon until eleven at night, with indoor and outdoor ceremony spaces decided on the day at no extra cost. There are no shared spaces and no overlapping events.
All food and bar is in-house. Chef Josh Gillard, head chef at Amuse Kitchen and Wine, cooks every menu on site: five passed hors d'oeuvres, a three course plated dinner with three mains and one always vegetarian, table wine, and a late-night station. Every allergy and dietary requirement is handled, and a complimentary tasting is offered before the day. We do not take outside caterers.
A dedicated venue director runs the day from your first planning meeting to the end of the night, including vendor coordination, floor plan, timeline and setup. Tables, chairs, linens, glassware, tableware and on-site parking are included. Florals, photography, music, transportation and an officiant come from your own vendors.
A $2,500 venue fee applies to every date. Dining is charged per guest by date tier: $209 on Tier One, $189 on Tier Two, $169 on Tier Three, each with its own guest minimum of 50, 40 and 30. Open bar packages run $35 to $70 per guest. Gratuity of 15% and HST of 13% apply to the full subtotal. Most weddings fall between $10,000 and $25,000. 2027 dates are open now at 2027 rates.
