At Ancora False Creek, a wedding dinner unfolds right beside the marina, with the marina just beyond the glass and the calm of the waterfront all around.
Ancora is a West Coast seafood restaurant with two locations, and its False Creek room sits on the water in downtown Vancouver. The kitchen pairs sustainable Pacific seafood with Japanese technique and seasonal ingredients from near and far.
The room itself is full of quiet coastal touches: soft blues, sandy neutrals and pale wood, chandeliers inspired by fishing nets brought over from Italy, and a lower dining room wall of soft gold tiles that echo rolling waves. The bar is finished in walnut and topped with backlit onyx.
For a small wedding, the private room on the mezzanine seats up to 24, with floor to ceiling glass looking down over the dining room and out to the marina. Opened up with the neighbouring mezzanine area, it seats 38 for dinner or holds 60 for a standing reception.
The main dining room can welcome guests with drinks at the bar before a seated dinner for 55, or host a standing reception of roughly 150, depending on the weather. In all, the restaurant can arrange its spaces for groups from 10 to 120, and full buyouts are available on certain days and seasons for complete privacy.
Group menus are designed to suit every guest, and the team follows up on each inquiry within one business day to talk through dates, numbers and special requests.
For couples who picture a relaxed seafood dinner by the water with the marina as a backdrop, Ancora offers a waterfront wedding celebration that feels polished, warm and unmistakably Vancouver.
