Royal Glenora Club
Royal Glenora Club feels like one of those rare Edmonton wedding places where you can be right in the heart of the city and somehow feel as though the city has disappeared.
Tucked into Edmonton's river valley, the club looks out across a sweeping landscape of trees and greenery, giving couples a wedding backdrop that changes with the light, the weather and the seasons. And you do not need to be a member to make it yours for the day.
The showpiece is the newly renovated Braemar Ballroom.
Floor-to-ceiling windows stretch across the room, pulling the river valley into the celebration and filling the space with natural light. Up to 250 guests can be seated here, but despite its size, the view keeps the ballroom connected to everything beautiful happening outside.
Then there is the balcony.
Step through the doors and suddenly you are standing above one of Edmonton's most beautiful natural landscapes. It is easy to imagine guests wandering outside with a drink after the ceremony, conversations carrying into the fresh air while the newlyweds disappear for photographs somewhere among the river valley scenery.
And for a few minutes, everything becomes wonderfully quiet.
The trees stretch into the distance. The city feels far away. The two of you are finally married and, somewhere behind you, an entire ballroom full of people is waiting to celebrate it.
Not every wedding here has to be grand.

The Glenrose Ballroom creates a warm, contemporary setting for up to 90 seated guests, with natural light, wooden accents and globe pendant lighting. For something smaller still, the Strathcona Ballroom seats up to 50 and keeps that beautiful river valley sightline as part of the room. The two spaces can also be joined together for celebrations of up to 130 seated guests.
That means the romance does not depend on filling an enormous ballroom.
A smaller wedding can feel wonderfully close here, with everyone you love gathered around a handful of tables while the river valley provides all the grandeur you could possibly need beyond the windows.
Behind the scenes, Royal Glenora's in-house event team helps shape the celebration, from the room itself to the table settings and a menu tailored around the occasion.
Then afternoon begins to turn into evening.
The natural light across the Braemar Ballroom softens. The river valley outside becomes deeper and darker while inside, glasses catch the light and flowers begin to glow against the room.
Dinner becomes speeches.
Speeches become stories.
And eventually the music begins.
Guests who spent the afternoon standing on the balcony looking across Edmonton are suddenly filling the dance floor, shoes are appearing beneath tables and the elegant ballroom has become louder, warmer and far more personal than it looked when the doors first opened.
Outside, the river valley has almost disappeared into the night.
Inside, everyone you love is still gathered beneath the same lights.
And perhaps that is what makes Royal Glenora Club feel so romantic.
You can have the beautiful ballroom, the polished service and all the elegance of a city wedding.
But just beyond the glass is something nobody had to decorate at all.
An entire Edmonton river valley, quietly becoming part of your love story.
