Woody Island Resort turns a wedding into an adventure before the ceremony has even begun. Reached by boat and set within a resettled Newfoundland community, the resort offers intimate destination weddings surrounded by water, natural beauty and the unmistakable warmth of an island gathering.

The resort currently hosts weddings of up to about 60 guests, with overnight packages that can bring together boat transportation, accommodation, meals, live entertainment and the Newfoundland kitchen-party spirit that already belongs to the property. Because boat capacity affects how guests arrive, smaller groups can experience the island almost as a private retreat.

That journey is part of the romance. Everyone leaves the mainland together, crosses the water and arrives somewhere that feels beautifully removed from ordinary life.

For a day or two, the wedding becomes the reason everyone is on the island. Meals are shared, music carries into the evening and the celebration feels less like a single reception and more like a Newfoundland story the whole guest list got to live together, leaving the kind of warm, romantic memory that feels almost storybook long after the last dance.
