West Coast River Lodge feels like disappearing into the forest together.

Set beside the Somass River in the Alberni Valley, the family-run lodge is surrounded by towering firs, ferns, landscaped grounds and the kind of misty West Coast scenery that makes Vancouver Island feel almost otherworldly.

Weddings of up to approximately 120 guests can take over the property, with ceremony and reception space across the grounds and overnight accommodation for up to 26 people. Current wedding packages are available for 2026 and 2027.

The ceremony can happen beneath the trees in Cathedral Grove.

The river moves nearby.

Guests sit surrounded by forest rather than walls.

Then the newlyweds can disappear into the property for photographs while everyone else begins celebrating.

Later, dinner can unfold beneath the clear-top tent as evening settles into the trees.

And because the lodge can be exclusively theirs, the wedding does not have to feel like a few hurried hours.
