Veterans Memorial Gardens & Interpretive Centre

For couples who believe the most meaningful celebrations do not have to be the biggest, Veterans Memorial Gardens & Interpretive Centre offers something very different from a traditional Grande Prairie wedding venue.

This is a place built around history, remembrance and community, with beautiful memorial gardens outside and an intimate gathering space within the Interpretive Centre. It is particularly suited to smaller weddings where the people in the room have been carefully chosen and every face belongs to someone who matters.

The main museum display room can accommodate up to 60 guests for a seated dinner with buffet service, although the venue suggests around 40 for a particularly comfortable gathering. At that size, a wedding takes on a lovely closeness. Nobody is hidden at the back of an enormous ballroom. Conversations travel easily between tables, speeches feel personal and the newlyweds can actually spend time with the people who came to celebrate them.

Couples also have flexibility when it comes to the meal. Potluck-style gatherings are welcome, while catering is available through the on-site Jamaican Canteen. Audiovisual equipment and Wi-Fi are available for the practical pieces of the celebration, whether that means music, photographs or sharing memories on screen.

Beyond the doors are the Veterans Memorial Gardens. They are first and foremost a place of commemoration and deserve to be treated with the respect that carries, but they also bring greenery, pathways and a sense of history to the surroundings.
