Set at the mouth of the Pugwash River Estuary overlooking the Northumberland Strait, the National Historic Site became famous as the setting of the first Pugwash Conference on Science and World Affairs in 1957, a movement that would later share the Nobel Peace Prize. Today, the restored waterfront property also welcomes weddings.

Across the property, the restored Lobster Factory provides a reception space with a professional catering kitchen and seating for approximately 80 to 99 guests. The Lodge itself includes seven en-suite bedrooms, allowing some of the people closest to the couple to stay right on the property.
