The Owl Grove

Owl Grove feels like a wedding setting discovered rather than constructed. Hidden within a private forested acreage in Sooke, the property is surrounded by towering trees, arbutus and the natural west coast landscape, giving the day the atmosphere of a storybook clearing tucked away on Vancouver Island.

Outdoor ceremonies can accommodate up to 120 guests, while smaller forested areas offer quieter options for more intimate vows. The reception area has room for a 20-by-60-foot tent, with optional rustic harvest tables, whisky barrels, a wood bar and other décor pieces available. Couples can bring in their own caterers, food trucks or a more DIY approach, using dedicated preparation areas to support the celebration.

Two cabins add another layer to the weekend. Charlie's Cabin sleeps up to eight and can double as a getting-ready space, while Perch Cabin accommodates two and looks toward the inner Sooke basin. Weekend wedding packages include ceremony and reception locations along with a two-night stay in both cabins.

There is a wonderful sense of privacy here. The trees form the walls, the sky becomes the ceiling, and the people you love can gather in a place that feels far removed from everything else. It is easy to picture the evening lights coming on beneath the branches while the enchanting forest settles around the last dance.
