The Hemingway Room

The Hemingway Room has the kind of character couples usually spend hours trying to add to a blank venue.

Inside Calgary's historic Ramsay Design Centre, the 3,000-square-foot room pairs towering exposed brick with sleek concrete floors, crystal chandeliers and three grand west-facing windows. The result is industrial, romantic and wonderfully creative all at once, giving a wedding a strong sense of style before the first flower or candle is placed.

The room can host up to 150 guests for a seated reception and up to 175 for a standing celebration. It also works beautifully for something more intimate. A smaller wedding can lean into the warmth of the brick, soft lighting and chandeliers to create a cosy atmosphere that feels more like an incredible private gathering than a traditional ballroom reception.

A private outdoor patio with café lights is included with Hemingway wedding bookings, giving guests somewhere to step outside for cocktails or a little fresh air. Couples also have access to the Palm Room, a private space for getting ready, storing personal items or simply finding a quiet moment during the day.
