The Canadian Canoe Museum

The Canadian Canoe Museum gives a Peterborough wedding one of the most distinctive waterfront settings in Ontario. Its beautiful new campus sits on Little Lake, pairing contemporary event spaces with the world's largest collection of canoes and kayaks and a landscape shaped by water.

Couples can choose indoor or outdoor ceremonies, including the extraordinary possibility of arriving by canoe for dockside vows. Cocktail hour can flow through the spacious atrium, while the second-floor terrace catches the sunset over the lake. The main event space seats up to 170 guests for dinner, and museum admission can become part of the guest experience.

There is something breathtaking about beginning a marriage beside the water in a place devoted to journeys. A canoe glides toward the dock, the lake shimmers behind the ceremony and the whole setting feels unmistakably Canadian.

Then sunset settles over Little Lake, the terrace turns golden and the museum becomes warm with dinner, laughter and a celebration unlike any ordinary ballroom could hold.
