Strathmere gives an Ottawa-area wedding the feeling of leaving the city behind and stepping into a whole countryside estate built for the celebration.

Set across 200 acres in North Gower, the property offers three very different wedding spaces.

The Garden House is bright and open, with wraparound windows, woodland views and room for up to around 160 guests for dinner.

The Lodge brings the warmth of a restored heritage barn, with original beams, stone fireplaces and space for up to around 180.

And for something more intimate, the 1860s Farmhouse keeps the guest list close, welcoming up to around 65 for dinner.

That means the couple can choose more than a room.

They can choose the feeling of the day.

A garden ceremony.

A historic barn.

A fieldstone farmhouse beneath old trees.

The grounds, ceremony spaces and preparation areas are reserved around the wedding, while on-site accommodation and a dedicated coordinator help the whole celebration stay connected.
