South Point Resort feels like the kind of wedding where somebody arrives for the ceremony and, two days later, realizes they have not put their car keys in their pocket since.
On the shores of Canim Lake in British Columbia's South Cariboo, the resort gives couples more than 600 feet of beach, mountain views and seven acres of nature to turn into an entire wedding weekend.

This 1,800-square-foot rustic reception space looks out toward Canim Lake and seats up to 100 guests beneath rough-cut wooden beams and details inspired by the Cariboo's country character.
Large doors and windows bring in natural light and fresh air, while the adjoining patio keeps the reception connected to the outdoors.
Then there is the fire pit.
Because some of the loveliest wedding conversations happen when people step away from the music for ten minutes and find one another outside.
South Point makes those moments easy.
The wedding is not isolated inside a building.
It spills toward the patio, the fire and the lake beyond.
And guests can stay.
Cabins, condos, serviced RV sites and dry camping turn the property into wedding headquarters, allowing family and friends to arrive for more than a few hours.
The resort's wedding offering also brings together many of the practical pieces, including tables, chairs, ceremony setup, linens, décor elements, lighting and on-site staff.
So when the weekend finally arrives, couples can concentrate a little less on moving furniture and a little more on what is happening around them.
People they love are swimming, talking, getting ready and wandering along the lake.
Then everyone gathers at the shoreline.
The vows happen.
Dinner fills the Tack Shed.
The sun disappears over Canim Lake and the fire begins glowing outside.
