Shadow Lawn Inn feels more like being invited to an elegant old home than arriving at a traditional wedding venue.

Built in 1870 in Rothesay, the historic mansion has been welcoming intimate celebrations for generations.

Couples can exchange vows outside on the lawn or indoors in front of the main fireplace, allowing the ceremony to feel warm and personal in any season.

Then guests can gather in the gardens for cocktails while the newlyweds step away for photographs around the property.

The celebration remains intentionally intimate.

Different rooms throughout the inn give dinner, cocktails and conversation a feeling that is closer to an elegant house party than a ballroom reception.

Later comes the first dance in the foyer.

Guests move into the lounge.

The formality of the ceremony disappears and the old home fills with the sound of a wedding.

There is accommodation on site too, giving couples the chance to keep some of the people closest to them nearby overnight.
