Sea Cider Farm & Ciderhouse

Sea Cider gives a wedding three beautiful little worlds to move through.

First, the forest.

Hidden among the trees is the Forest Stumpery, where guests gather for a ceremony that feels wonderfully removed from the rest of the day.

The aisle leads through the greenery.

The vows happen beneath the trees.

And somewhere beyond them, an orchard, ciderhouse and view toward the Salish Sea are waiting for what comes next.

After the ceremony, everyone emerges onto the Orchard Patio.

This is cocktail hour with Vancouver Island showing off.

The farm's six-acre orchard surrounds the property while views stretch toward the water and mountains beyond.

Glasses begin filling with cider made right here on the farm, guests find one another and the newlyweds finally get a few minutes to disappear for photographs.

Then everyone gathers again in the Farmhouse Pavilion.

Sea Cider can host everything from an elopement for two to a wedding of 120, allowing the property to feel just as special when the guest list is tiny as when nearly everyone the couple loves has made the journey to Saanichton.

Food comes through the venue's catering partners, while Sea Cider manages the drinks, including the ciders that began with apples grown around the celebration itself.

There is something lovely about that.

The trees are not decoration.

The orchard is not a backdrop brought in for photographs.

This is a working farm, and the things growing around the wedding become part of what guests raise in their glasses.

Eventually everyone leaves the forest behind.

Then the orchard.

Then dinner.

The light disappears over the Salish Sea and the celebration settles into evening.

And a wedding that seems to unfold with the landscape rather than simply happening inside it.
