There is a moment at a countryside wedding when you look beyond the celebration and realize just how much space there is around you.

At Scotswood Links near Elm Creek, that view stretches across an 18-hole golf course and acres of green Manitoba landscape.

Located roughly 35 minutes southwest of Winnipeg, Scotswood gives couples the feeling of escaping the city without asking everyone they love to travel very far to find them.

The wedding can begin outside in the Courtyard.

Couples can choose to frame the ceremony against the openness of the course or beneath the shade of a mature canopy tree, creating two very different moods within the same setting. White ceremony chairs line the aisle, while the neighbouring Terrace makes it easy for guests to move naturally into cocktails once the vows are over.

The Terrace has its own character, with a wooden pergola, porch swing, outdoor fireplace and bistro lighting that becomes especially lovely as daylight begins to fade.

Then everyone moves inside.

The 3,000-square-foot Banquet Hall can accommodate celebrations of up to approximately 180 guests. Large east and south-facing windows bring natural light into the room, while exposed wood beams, chandeliers and a built-in shiplap bar add warmth without forcing couples into one particular wedding style.

There are also upper and lower deck patios, an on-site restaurant and plenty of room for photographs across the grounds.

That means the wedding can keep changing without ever really leaving Scotswood.
