In the heart of downtown Sydney, Sacred Heart Downtown gives couples the chance to celebrate inside a beautiful piece of Cape Breton history.

The former church has stood for around 140 years, and much of the character that made the building special has been preserved. Soaring architecture, the original organ and the sense of history in the room create a dramatic setting before you add a single flower.

Weddings and celebrations can welcome around 300 guests, with a spacious dance floor ready for the evening. There are also private spaces for getting ready, a bridal bathroom and a balcony overlooking the main room.

Modern lighting and sound have been worked into the historic setting, so the building can move from an emotional ceremony to dinner, speeches and a full dance floor without losing what makes it unique.

For couples who love architecture, history and spaces with a story behind them, Sacred Heart Downtown is one of Cape Breton's most memorable places to celebrate.
