Posh Country Venue + Events feels like a prairie wedding with nothing but sky and river behind the vows, and a tent glowing in the field once the sun goes down.

The venue sits 4.2 kilometres west of Battleford, Saskatchewan, off Highway 40, and runs its wedding season from June to August. The ceremony takes place in an outdoor amphitheatre with a wood arch overlooking the Battle River, with pew benches seating 36 guests and open field views in every direction.

The reception moves to a tent with cathedral windows, sized up to 40 by 100 feet for as many as 200 guests, with an 18 by 18 foot dance floor. Modern washrooms built in the style of a metal grainery have flush toilets and running water, hot and cold, there is a walk-in cold room for the food, and an outdoor bar area with a saloon shooter bar keeps the evening lively. The venue rental includes the tent, lighting, a fireplace, bartenders and setup and cleanup, and couples have exclusive use of the property Thursday through Sunday.

Owned by Kevin and Noelle Beckman, Posh Country also hosts corporate events, birthdays, reunions and retirements, but weddings are its heart.

Imagine walking down to the arch with the river below, the long prairie light through the tent windows at dinner, and dancing until the stars come out over the field. For couples who want the wide-open romance of Saskatchewan, Posh Country makes it feel a little like a fairytale.
