Pine Knot has watched a lot of couples begin married life here.

More than 500 weddings have been celebrated at the Dorchester property over the years, and it is easy to understand why.

The golf course is surrounded by greenery, ponds and landscaped grounds, with several places for the ceremony and photographs before everyone moves inside.

Couples can exchange vows beneath the outdoor arbour or beside the dock, giving the ceremony two very different feelings.

Then comes that wonderful moment after the vows.

Guests move toward cocktails.

The nerves disappear.

The newlyweds finally get a few quiet minutes together somewhere across the course.

Inside, the reception room overlooks the greenery and opens toward a covered deck, allowing the landscape to stay close even after dinner begins.

By evening, the room changes completely.

Speeches finish.

The music gets louder.

And everyone who was sitting so neatly earlier is suddenly on the dance floor.
