Muskoka Waterfront Retreat sits directly on Lake of Bays, surrounded by pines, private shoreline and the unmistakable feeling of cottage country.

The property specializes in intimate weddings where the ceremony, celebration and overnight stay can all become part of the same experience.

Couples can exchange vows outdoors with the lake directly behind them.

Then guests begin celebrating while the newlyweds stay near the waterfront for photographs.

For a little while, there is simply water, trees and the realization that they are finally married.

The retreat includes cottages and chalet suites with accommodation for approximately 70 guests, along with a dining hall, deck and indoor gathering spaces.

That means the wedding can stretch into an entire weekend.

People arrive early.
