Grey Rock Casino is one of those wedding venues where the possibilities begin with a wonderfully simple idea: start with the space, then make it completely yours.

Located near Edmundston in northwestern New Brunswick, Grey Rock has a dedicated event centre designed for celebrations of dramatically different sizes, from intimate gatherings of around 25 people to room-filling weddings of as many as 600.

The venue can be configured around the wedding rather than asking the wedding to fit one fixed room. Its two main halls can be used individually or combined into approximately 7,000 square feet of event space, creating room for dinner, speeches, entertainment and the dance floor that everyone eventually finds their way toward.

Behind the scenes, professional event planners help couples bring the details together. Full-service catering is available through the venue, along with audiovisual equipment, sound and lighting capabilities and many of the practical pieces needed to turn an empty event space into a wedding.

There is another useful detail for couples bringing people together from farther away. Grey Rock works alongside nearby accommodation, with the neighbouring Quality Hotel connected by a pedestrian link, allowing guests to make a night or weekend of the celebration rather than worrying about a long journey home when the music stops.

But the room itself is only the beginning.

Eventually the tables are dressed. Flowers arrive. Place cards appear. The doors open and a space that could have hosted any number of events suddenly belongs unmistakably to two people.

Your people begin filling the chairs.

Someone is already crying before the ceremony has properly started. Dinner brings everyone together, speeches turn old stories into new memories and eventually the carefully arranged room becomes wonderfully untidy as chairs empty and the dance floor fills.

That is when Grey Rock stops feeling like an event centre.
