At the foot of Candy Mountain in the Slate River Valley, Gammondale Farm is the kind of wedding venue that feels playful, personal and wonderfully far removed from a traditional ballroom.

Wedding ceremonies take place outdoors, surrounded by countryside that changes beautifully through the season, from the flowers and greenery of summer to the first rich colours of approaching autumn. Couples have exclusive use of the property, leaving the farm to feel entirely their own for the celebration.

The rustic Log House can seat up to 50 guests, while larger weddings can spill outside beneath a tent and make more of the surrounding landscape.

And for couples who want one genuinely storybook moment, Gammondale even has its own vintage horse-drawn wedding carriage, pulled by a black Percheron horse. It is the sort of arrival, or newlywed departure, guests are unlikely to forget.

Weddings here run from June through mid-September, making Gammondale a lovely choice for couples dreaming of a relaxed country celebration beneath the Northwestern Ontario sky.
