Set within Fanshawe Conservation Area in London, the 46-acre heritage village gives couples an entire collection of historic buildings, gardens, lawns and pathways to weave into the wedding day. Weddings are hosted from May through the end of September, with ceremony and reception options ranging from an 1887 church to a nineteenth-century barn and tented celebrations among the village grounds.
A ceremony can begin inside Trinity Church.
Built in 1887, the Carpenter Gothic church seats approximately 95 guests and still has its bell, which can even be rung during the ceremony. There is something almost storybook-like about that picture: guests seated inside a little historic church, vows exchanged beneath its wooden architecture and church bells marking the moment you walk back outside together.
Couples who prefer the outdoors can choose the Lawson Gazebo instead, surrounded by mature trees and greenery.
From there, the whole village becomes part of the photography.
Historic homes, fences, fields, gardens and pathways give couples dozens of places to wander without ever leaving the property. One photograph might feel like a countryside wedding, another like something taken generations ago.
Then comes the reception.
The Village Barn is a genuine nineteenth-century wood-frame barn that can host approximately 110 guests for a seated meal or 150 for a cocktail reception. Couples looking for something larger or more open can also build a tented reception on the lawns and fields, surrounded by historic homes and Victorian-style gardens.
There is also the modern Spriet Family Visitor Centre for couples who want the historic atmosphere around the wedding but a more contemporary indoor reception space.
