Rising above Edmonton's river valley, Fairmont Hotel Macdonald has been part of the city's biggest celebrations for more than a century.

Known affectionately as Edmonton's castle, the historic hotel gives couples the choice between elegant indoor rooms and beautiful outdoor spaces overlooking the North Saskatchewan River Valley.

Inside, grand ballrooms bring the romance of an old railway hotel to the celebration, with ornate architectural details and plenty of natural light. The Empire Ballroom can welcome up to 250 guests for a banquet, giving larger weddings room for dinner, speeches and dancing.

Outside, the hotel's gardens offer a completely different atmosphere, surrounded by greenery with the enormous river valley stretching beyond them.

Menus are created by the hotel's culinary team with an emphasis on ingredients from Alberta farms and producers, while dedicated wedding specialists help bring the details of the celebration together.
