Elmhirst's Resort turns a wedding into a dreamy lakeside escape on the shores of Rice Lake. The all-season Kawarthas resort brings together waterfront ceremony settings, private reception rooms, on-site dining, a spa and 30 waterfront cottages, allowing couples to gather their favourite people somewhere that feels wonderfully removed from ordinary life.

The celebration can be as intimate as an elopement for two or grow into a full wedding weekend. Couples can marry beneath the outdoor pergola overlooking the lake, dine with water views and add memorable experiences such as a horse-drawn carriage or sleigh ride, pontoon excursions and wine-cellar tastings.

There is something almost cinematic about waking in a lakeside cottage on the morning you get married. The water is already sparkling outside, family is only a few cottages away and the whole resort seems to be quietly waiting for the ceremony.
