There are very few places in Canada where simply saying the name of the destination already sounds a little romantic.

Niagara Falls is one of them.

At DoubleTree Fallsview Resort & Spa, couples can build an entire wedding around one of the country's most iconic destinations while keeping the people they love together under one roof.

The hotel welcomes weddings from approximately 40 to 350 guests, with six ceremony spaces and five reception spaces allowing couples to choose something that feels appropriate for the size and style of their celebration.

There are indoor ceremony options as well as an outdoor Wedding Arbour parkette, giving couples the possibility of stepping outside for the vows before bringing everyone together again for cocktails and dinner.

And then, of course, there is Niagara Falls itself.

For generations, couples have travelled here to celebrate love, honeymoons and new beginnings. There is something wonderfully fitting about adding your own wedding story to a place already so closely connected with them.

Photographs can take the couple away for a little while.

The ceremony is finished. Everyone else is beginning cocktails. For the first time that day, nobody needs anything from them.

They can simply stand together and let Niagara become part of the memory.

Back at the hotel, more than 10,000 square feet of event space gives the celebration room to change throughout the day. The Grand Hall can become the setting for a larger reception, while spaces such as the Atrium and Outdoor Terrace can be used for ceremonies, cocktails and those quieter parts of the evening between the bigger moments.

The hotel also has 224 guest rooms and suites, which means the wedding does not need to scatter at midnight.

Family can stay upstairs.

Friends can remain until the last dance.

The couple can wake the next morning knowing many of the people who celebrated with them are still somewhere in the same building.

There is an on-site spa and salon too, adding another lovely possibility to the wedding morning. While one part of the group is getting ready, someone else may be downstairs having breakfast, another person is checking the flowers and somewhere a nervous groom or bride is looking at the clock far too often.

Then suddenly everyone is dressed.

The ceremony begins.

And the wedding that existed for months as plans and emails becomes real in one of Canada's most romantic destinations.
