Domaine Mallity Estate began with a wedding.
Before Kyrillos and Lexine became the people welcoming other couples onto the property, they were the first couple to marry there themselves in April 2024.
There is something rather lovely about that.
They know what the property feels like not only as venue owners, but as two people who once stood there surrounded by their own family and friends and said yes to a life together.
Today, the 55-acre estate near Hammond is surrounded by forest, creating a private wedding setting that feels much farther from Ottawa than the drive suggests.
The day can begin upstairs in a dedicated lounge, where the wedding party has a place to gather before the ceremony. Outside, wooden benches face a pergola among the trees, giving couples a ceremony space where forest replaces walls and the sunlight filtering through the branches becomes part of the décor.
Then the nerves are over.
Everyone moves toward cocktails on the patio, only steps from the bar, while the newlyweds can disappear into the property for photographs.
There are plenty of places to wander.
Trees. Open grounds. A little sugar shack tucked toward the back of the estate. Quiet corners where, for a few minutes, the wedding feels as though it belongs only to the two people at the centre of it.
Inside, exposed wood and light finishes give the reception space the warmth of a country gathering without losing its polished side. Approximately 65 to 70 guests can celebrate indoors, while the space can expand toward the pergola for a larger group. During the warmer months, a tent allows weddings of up to approximately 150 guests.
And when evening comes, the property softens again.
A bonfire can be lit when conditions allow.
People who spent the afternoon dressed perfectly begin gathering around it with drinks in their hands. Someone has changed shoes. Someone else is retelling something that happened during the ceremony.
Behind them, music is still coming from the reception.
