Digby Pines has the lovely feeling of a place where people have been coming to celebrate for generations.

Set above the Annapolis Basin in Nova Scotia, the historic resort surrounds weddings with gardens, broad lawns, woodland trails and that unmistakable Maritime view toward the water.

The ceremony can happen outside.

Guests gather on the manicured grounds while the Basin stretches away beyond them, giving the vows a backdrop that feels elegant without ever becoming overly formal.

Then everyone can stay.

That is where Digby Pines turns a wedding into a destination.

The main hotel keeps guests close to the heart of the resort, while 32 cottages give families and groups somewhere a little more private to settle in, complete with living spaces and verandas that seem made for the conversations that happen around the wedding itself.

The celebration can begin the evening before with a gathering or casual barbecue.

Then comes the wedding.

Then breakfast together the following morning, when everybody is slightly tired, still talking about the speeches and finally able to laugh about whatever almost went wrong.
