Charkuu 102 Homestead

Hidden within 115 acres of boreal forest just outside Thunder Bay, CharKuu 102 Homestead was created for couples who would rather celebrate beneath northern skies than inside a traditional ballroom.

At the centre of the property is a beautiful timber-frame barn built specifically with weddings in mind. Huge wooden beams give it its rustic character, while the open 3,500-square-foot space has room for up to 200 seated guests and a dedicated dance floor waiting for the evening to begin.

Then there is the bar. A vintage 1973 Airstream has been transformed into a permanent cocktail bar beside the barn, serving everything from wine and beer to craft cocktails, including seasonal ingredients gathered from the property when available.

Food carries the same northern character. CharKuu works with Pinetree Catering to create menus using ingredients from local farmers and producers, bringing the flavours of Northwestern Ontario into the celebration.

Couples also receive access to the property from the day before the wedding through the following day, with the venue team helping with setup, ceremony and reception details, seating, parking and cleanup.

Surrounded by forest, filled with warm timber and made for nights of food, cocktails and dancing, CharKuu 102 is a wedding venue that feels completely at home in Northern Ontario.
