Cedar Haven feels like a ceremony hidden inside a Vancouver Island rainforest.

In East Sooke, the family-owned venue was created within the same forested property where its owners were married years ago. Towering trees and ferns surround the outdoor ceremony space, giving couples the feeling of exchanging vows inside a natural cathedral rather than a conventional wedding venue.

The venue has intentionally returned its focus to forest ceremonies and intimate celebrations, including micro weddings. That smaller scale suits the setting beautifully. A close circle of favourite people can gather beneath the trees, with the quiet of the forest making every word and moment feel a little more present.

Two getting-ready rooms give both sides of the wedding party private space before the ceremony, including a treetop suite with its own deck among the trees. Afterwards, couples can host an afternoon cocktail-style gathering in the forest or beneath a tented area, keeping the celebration relaxed and connected to the outdoors.

The property also offers plenty of beautiful photograph locations without requiring couples to leave the site, and the ceremony and reception areas are accessible.
