Capitol 33

Capitol 33 was a theatre before it became a wedding venue.

Perhaps that is why entrances feel so natural here.

Built in 1933 in the heart of Delhi, the former theatre has been transformed without stripping away the pieces that give the room its character. Exposed brick climbs toward 20-foot ceilings, while modern finishes, lighting and sound bring the old building firmly into the present.

Up to around 130 guests can gather for a seated celebration, with standing events reaching approximately 170.

That makes Capitol 33 large enough for a proper party without losing the intimacy that makes an old theatre feel special.

The ceremony and reception can both belong to the same dramatic room, but the atmosphere changes as the wedding does.

At first, chairs face the vows.

Everyone waits.

The doors open.

And for a few minutes the room really does feel like a theatre again, with every eye turned toward one entrance.

Later, everything shifts.

Tables fill the floor.

Dinner arrives.

Speeches bounce off old brick.

Then the lighting changes and a space built for audiences becomes a place where nobody particularly wants to remain seated.

That history gives the venue a little extra romance.

For decades, people came through these doors expecting something worth watching.

Now, on wedding days, the story is not happening on a stage.
