Some wedding venues need flowers brought in to create the romance.

At Bonnieheath Estate, some of them are already growing in the ground.

Set across 130 acres near Waterford, the estate brings together lavender fields, vineyard rows, ponds, farmland and wide Norfolk County skies. In summer, when the lavender is in bloom, the property can feel almost storybook, with purple stretching across the farm and vines winding through the countryside.

Bonnieheath hosts elopements, micro-weddings and intimate celebrations of up to 50 guests, with ceremonies possible beside its white garden gazebo and receptions in the working Lavender Distillery.

There is something lovely about the fact that none of it feels created just for weddings.

The vineyard is real. The lavender is grown here. The wine and cider are made here. The landscape changes with the season and the wedding simply gets to become part of it for a day.

After the ceremony, couples can wander through the property for photographs among the vines, fields and lavender, especially as the light begins to soften toward evening.

And when the celebration is over, it does not necessarily have to end immediately. Bonnieheath also offers on-site accommodation, allowing some guests to stay and wake up with the wedding still feeling wonderfully close.
